Welcome to my Drum Lessons NYC website!
My name is Matt Ritter, and these pages are chock-full of information about my approach as a drum instructor in
New York City. Since it could easily take hours to read everything on this website,
I will offer a brief overview here. I began teaching drum lessons in New York City in 1996.
Since then, I have worked with hundreds of students and taught many thousands of drum lessons.
New York City being as diverse as it is, I have been able to work with people from all walks of life.
Of course, the majority of my students are beginners hoping to learn to play the drums.
However, I have also given drum lessons to professional NY drummers, an indie rock star, a Latin Grammy Award nominee, and a
major international drumming celebrity. Whatever the level and goals of the student,
I do my best to make our drum lessons productive and fun! My studio is conveniently located in Queens, just a few subway stops from Manhattan. If you would like more information about my private drum lessons in New York City,
